Because she fell in love with a boy who didn't share the same feelings towards her. He barely glimpsed at her. She fought for him for almost a year. It tickled in her belly of all the butterflies she had everytime she saw him walk past her in the hallway in school. Endless nights of thinking about what he were doing in that exact moment. Wondering if he would ever feel the same that she did? Then, one day he finally wanted to go on a date with her. The girl were beginning to find hope for the two of them after all and she couldn't wait to see what the future would bring.
After so many months the girl took the courage and kissed the boy, and she could've not been more happier. They were finally together and it was better than she could've ever imagined it to be. One starry night, the boy and the girl layed on the ground and looked up at the beautiful shimmering stars. They held eachother hands and didn't say a word, they just felt the strong connection between them. After a while the boy turned his face towards her.
He looked at her with his big brown eyes and he caressed her cheek with his fingers and said "I'll never hurt you."
And he gently kissed her on the lips. The girl believed him. How could she not? When the girl walked home that day she felt as if that was the best day of her oh so young life.
But the months passed and the boy changed. Changed to the worse. He no longer was the boy that she fell in love with. He was far from recognition. He hurt her so many times. Time after time she forgave him and thought that her love would fix this so they once again could be happy together.
One day the girl woke up and realized that she deserved better than him, even though it made a deep cut in her heart on the thought of leaving the boy. The naive and young little girl had grown up and she finally left the boy. He could hurt her no more.
The girls once happy smile and bubbly feelings and the great belief in the thing called love was vanished. All that was left of her standing by the end of the road was a broken heart and her tears slowly dripping down on the ground. It took a while for her heart to heal and put allt the broken pieces together again but at least she had learnt something throughout their time together;
The greatest thing you'll ever learn
Is just to love and be loved in return.
